Wonderful memory wearing Hanbok, at Goguan Studio in Insadong

I enjoyed Insadong, and I liked traditional atmosphere of this place.
You can find lots of interesting stuffs there, and there's really good for souvenir shopping.

For the first time, I went to Goguan Studio, where you can wear Hanbok, Korean traditional costume.
My friend recommend me there, and I got a chane to go.

Most of all, I have to say it was most extraordinary experience ever.
They have various styles of Hanbok in studio, and inteior is like exactly from hundreds years ago.
I was the most excited visitor there \../

I and my friends wore different Hanboks and took some pictures.
If someone has a plan to go to Insa-dong, obviously Goguan Studio is the never missing place!! http://www.goguan.net

Korea Ceramic Tour - Attraction in Korea

Today, i am posting this awesome memory for Korea Ceramic Museum at Gyeonggido.

I've never seen like this lots of Ceramic related activities and art collections before.

It's one of the best attractions in Korea i think,,

1st, took a coffee break and got some information for this tour.

This museum prepared English Information Service, so i understood easily.

A variety of Ceramic items i could enjoy.

And Korean traditional dishes i tried,, So delicious !!!

This experience was the best, making something by myself ^_^

mmm,,, gorgeous to me,,,

There were 3 destinations for Ceramic tour -> Gwangju, Icheon and Yeoju.

Me and my friend got no enough time, we spent the whole day though,

We will definitely visit here again to the fullest.

And we went back to Pencil5 hostel using public transportation.

Hotteok^^

Korean pancake a.k.a. hotteok^^

In Korea you can find a lot of street food, even if it's cold outside.

Hotteok is a variety of filled Korean pancake and is a popular street food in Korea especially during the winter time.

The most popular filling is brown sugar, peanuts and cinnamon But recently you can fing green tea hotteok or vegetable hotteok.

Taking a bite of a freshly fried hotteok on a cold winter day is a great way to warm up.

Warm yourself during the winter and taste the delicious hotteok!

Sightseeing Part 2

TrickEye Museum in Hongdae

Let me recommend you another place, which is near to Yeonsinnae and one of the most popular are in Seoul, Hongdae!

While you walk around in Hongdae , do shopping or eating nice Korean food, you can visit the Trickeye Museum and having fun with 3D pictures.

The Trickeye Museum features a good collection of two and and three dimensional trick art that were especially designed for photographs. There are also staff members onsite who will assist with taking photos.

The museum has eight thematic exhibits, including historical, twists of familiar masterpieces, romantic, luxurious, domestic, traditional, style, and finally, a house of mirrors. The museum also hosts various ongoing educational programs for children and is open conveniently until 9 p.m. every night, making it an ideal course for couples.

Sightseeing tip for the cold weather

Discover Yeuido!

The weather is getting colder and you don’t have an idea where to go???

Let's go to Yeouido^^

Yeouido is not only a tourist destination to see cherry blossoms at spring time, but it is also known as the "Manhattan of Seoul”. Since here is the center of Seoul's politics, finance and business and is home to some famous landmarks like the National Assembly Building, 63 Building, which is one of the tallest buildings in Korea.

The IFC Mall, a large international shopping area, was opened last year in Yeouido. You can buy a lot of good quality products.

The Hangang River is a good place for people relax along the river. There a lot of restaurants but if you prefer picnic then the park is also suitable to enjoy a relaxing weekend (if the weather is nice).

When the weather is cold the 63 Building is a preferable place to go.

Inside there is the Sky Art Gallery Sea World and Wax Museum and restaurants with delicious food.

Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam Journey with KORAIL

I would like to introduce you the three good placesin south part of the peninsula where you can go by train which is a special train with a cabin bed in it.

In Busan you can see the south-seaside of Korea, including the beautiful Oryukdo and taste the variety of local food. Go to Jagalchi Market and eat seafood^^

My favourite place in Busan is Gamcheon cultural village. walking along the street on the hill is very peaceful. you can take nice photos like this:

In Ulsan, you can visit the whale museum and the pottery village.

Gyeongnam historic sites and Arirang festival is famous. you will definitely know more about Korean culture and traditional experiences during this journey. the train will provide you convenient facilities.

If you are Korean who cannot speak English well or foreigner who want to know Korean language, just go to the common area (5^th floor) and join the Korean-English class. It is for beginners.

Tour to Icheon

One hour far from Seoul brings you to the most exciting ceramic culture in Korea. Sightseeing tour on ceramics you can experience on for one day.

Gwangju Gonjiam Ceramic Park where you can try making pottery by yourself.
Icheon Cerapia where you can attend had-on experiences and glass classes.
Yeoju Dojasesang is for the ceramics shopping in Korean traditional environment.

Icheon is called the city of ceramics but the rice is also very famous there. Don't miss to try the delicious food in a Korean traditional restaurant.

Pepero Day -11/11

Korean version of Valentine's Day

Today is Pepero Day in Korea~

It is named after the Korean snack Pepero and held on November 11, since the date "11/11" resembles four sticks of Pepero.

The holiday is observed mostly by young people and couples, who exchange Pepero sticks, other candies.

According to one story, Pepero Day was started in 1994 by students at a girls' middle school in Busan, where they exchanged Pepero sticks as gifts to wish one another to grow "as tall and slender as a Pepero".

You can find romantic gift packages in the shops everywhere.

Seoul Lantern Festival , 서울등축제

The annual Seoul Lantern festival takes place from 11.01. ~ 11.17. this year on the Cheonggyecheon Stream in downtown Seoul.

Walking along the stream you can see a lot of lanterns with a unique design.

the best time to visit the festival is the evening when it is dark.

you can reach there on the following ways:

1) Euljiro 1-ga Station (Seoul Subway Line 2), Exit 2 or 3.
2) Jonggak Station (Subway Line 1), Exit 5.
3) Gwanghwamun Station (Subway Line 5), Exit 5.

Happy autumn in Seoul^^
Bukhansan National Park (북한산 국립공원)

If you don't have much time to go to countryside and discover the mountains there,

I can recommend you to go to Bukhansan which is the highest mountain in Seoul.

It’s very near to my place, Pencil 5 in Yeonsinnae.

The hiking path along the valley is the best to see the falling leaves and colorful trees.

Autumn colors are really nice, check on the photos^^

Bukhansan has a rich history as well, during the hiking you should visit Bukhansanseong Fortress and temples too.

When you reach the peak Baegundae you can see the nice panorama of Seoul.

Autumn is a good time to visit Bukhansan because the weather is clear and the colors of the trees are beautiful. don't miss it :)

Awesome hostel in Yeonsinnae- PENCIL 5, where I stay~

Let me share my experiences, advises about the places I’ve visited in Seoul~

At first, let’s start the journey from my accommodation which is an awesome hostel in Yeonsinnae.

The location is very convenient, not that crowd like the city center, but with a lot of nice restaurants, shops, traditional market, clubs and by metro we can go to the sightseeing places within a short time.

Why do I like this hostel? I’m going to show you time to time some interesting pieces of this hostel called PENCIL 5!!!!!
